Our First Reunion August 12, 2006
|
In the fall of 2005 two alumni of Marvin Marshall Elementary School, Alan Waite (1966) and
Toni Cerniglia (1966) got together and after much debate decided to organize the first ever
reunion for an elementary school.
A committee was formed which consisted of the following alumni: Bill Samuelson, Brenda
Brennan, Larry West and Cynthia West-Valls. Former faculty member Mary Carlson also joined
the committee.
The committee agreed to make it very informal and fun and to hold it in the multi-purpose room
at Marvin Marshall. Originally, this reunion was going to be a test run for a bigger and better
reunion in the future and was going to be limited to the classes of 1965, 1966 & 1967. As time
went on we decided that the more the merrier and we opened it up to an all class reunion.
Because most of the committee was made up of the graduating class of 1966 and we really didn't
know anyone from other classes most of the attendees turned out to be from the 1966 class. We
did have some attendees from classes before and after 1966 but most of them would make
comments like "I feel like I'm crashing the 1966 reunion!". Which was not the case at all! We
enjoyed having everyone there and we are looking forward to future reunions with many more
in attendance.
We had people come from as far away as New Jersey, Montana, San Diego, Fresno and all points
in between. A great time was had by all and the committee would like to personally thank
everyone that attended and we look forward to seeing you all again at the next reunion.
Enjoy the slide show & we hope to see you in 2007..... Toni
